Tried many times always cannot get X10 Android 2.1 upgrade work, finally download Update Service package to PC, get work from there.
The general idea is to turn off phone, press Back button, let X10 keep in debug mode, then connect phone to PC, will start upgrade.
1) Download Update service package from http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/support/softwaredownloads/detailed/updateservice/xperiax10?cc=ca&lc=en
2) Install Update Service on PC
3) Run Update Service, will check network connectivity
4) Turn off phone
5) Press Back Button on phone
6) Connect USB cable from phone to PC
7) Release Back Button after upgrade start
8) Disconnect cable and turn on phone, will take little longer for 1st time booting
